Description

Background

Bartos is the son of Grand Duchess Zaria Albalaski and her (probably) late husband Antanas, who vanished in 629 while accompanying Rasa Sikorin on an expedition towards the fringes of the Terror. Bartos has been raised under the assumption that he will one day be Grand Duke of Lonin and had the education to match the requirements of rule. He launched into every lesson with vigour and enthusiasm. He swiftly demonstrated a strong aptitude for leadership, and is developing a reputation as a commander. His visits to Vilslev's outlying fortresses or to villages along the Whitewater Plain are much looked forward to by the people of Lonin - besides his lively personal presence, he is generous with his time and swift to seek solutions to people's problems.

After his father vanished in 629, Bartos joined one of the numerous forces sent to search, though it was ultimately fruitless. The incident led to him refining and still further refining his ability to determine potential dangers and to read a battlefield, at least in theory, from learning from the experience of others. He spends much time with his great uncle Bogdan, in particular.

Personality

Bartos is vigorous and energetic. He has ample enthusiasm for his duties and a care for the people of Lonin learned from his family. He is very aware that he is the heir to the grand duchy, and almost always has an eye towards bettering himself to be able to better fill that role should the time come. Even now, as a noble of House Albalaski, he holds a prominent position.

While he has seen a number of skirmishes already, he makes for an unremarkable fighter and he knows it. Still, he understands well the value of leading from the front on some occasions, and doesn't hesitate to face battle if he must, though always with his soldiers by his side.

In the court in Sanctuary, he is boisterous and forthright. He doesn't at all have the same grasp on the intricacies of politics as his mother does, and takes a direct approach to issues.

Notable Traits

Bartos has considerable aptitude as a leader and is an able commander and orator.
