Princess Adelinde Otrese

With a gaze as soft, serene, and azure as the peaceful waters of an undisturbed lake, this woman beholds everything in a gentle manner. Sandy blonde waves sweep down to the thin set of her shoulders and her expression is held in practiced pleasantness, the epicenter of which is her fine lipped mouth. Her figure is graceful, neither lean nor plump, and she looks as though sometimes she might simply float away like a feather wisp on an errant breeze.

Adelinde is a first cousin of the late Empress Constanze Otrese. She was among the younger of that particular generation, and is less than a decade older than her first cousin once removed, Koline Otrese. She grew up in the assurance that, as an Otrese, she might do just what she wanted. Perhaps it was convenient that what she wanted tended to align with her education in courtly matters, but she was calm, even as a child.

In adulthood, she has been closely involved with the Imperial Crown. She has spent years representing the interests of House Otrese, often within the empire, though she has some experience in the polities of central Elthos. In 629, she was appointed Imperial Herald, so becoming the chief diplomat of the Imperial Crown. In 631, she was head of the delegation to Hadash ordered executed by King Misic Rannal, before Adon Rannal intervened to usher them to safety.

Adelinde carries with her the words of the imperial house - in theory, the words of the empire - and when she does so, she treads softly. She is calm, patient and mild-mannered. If people do not pay heed to the weight of her words, she doesn't suppose that shouting about it will generally help. She is open to discussion with even the most disagreeable of nobles. However, concessions on her part are rare. It is, in her mind, for her to understand issues, but not to yield ground.

She is a frequent participant in Sanctuary's social scene, although rarely places herself at the centre of events. She prefers to linger at the edges and pick out specific people for conversation.

Adelinde is a fine diplomat, with considerable insight into political motives.
