Description
Slender, reedy in an elegant, confident way, this woman considers the world around her with an elevated, knowing study in her caramel rich brown eyes. Her hair, a dark, sandy blonde, is kept away from her face and is often knotted into utilitarian styles even when she is at leisure. The practical nature of her hairstyles extends into the other facets of her appearance as well: she prefers simple cuts in clothes, her nails to be tidy, trimmed, but without ornamentation, and any makeup she might wear is 'just enough'.
Background
It is quite common that members of House Karalis go adventuring at some point. For most, that might involve long treks through wilderness, facing various unpleasant creatures, and so on. For Antigone, that means going to where people need help. Although she was tutored in courtly manners and diplomacy, medicine always held some fascination for her. She secured lessons with local physicians in Trapezus, then also travelled farther afield, to Sanctuary, and studied for years at the Houses of Healing through her early 20s.
With ample formal education and indeed practical experience under her belt, she set about putting it all to use in various far-flung places. Although she returns home often enough, she does not confine herself to Trapezus, and will go anywhere where a physician might be needed. She visited Broken Hills in the wake of the collapse of one of House Luthe's mines. She has been to Voivode's Rest, home of House Sikorin, and spent time tending to wounded warriors. She even caught word of the great flood faced by House Phavah, though conscious of their distrust of outsiders, her travels there were incognito, mentioned only in court after they were complete.
Personality
Antigone approaches her work religiously - she does in fact consider herself an adherent of Yatric, although her personal view is that Yatric really is all about people helping themselves. Since there is no formal dogma among Yatric's followers, there is not really anyone to dispute her view. She brooks no nonsense where medicine is concerned and people who in any way impede her are likely to be on the receiving end of a sharp word.
She does relax where medicine is not concerned. She has a sharp mind and a quick, if somewhat dry, wit. She's a routine sight at social functions in Sanctuary, which she both enjoys and also happens to use to do a measure of fundraising for good causes.
Notable Traits
Antigone is an excellent physician, particularly when it comes to providing emergency assistance, and still recalls some of her diplomatic training.
