Eliza Albalaski

Chipper. This young woman is amply chipper, flitting about like an excited hummingbird with an energy that is immeasurable. Golden curls caress the fine features of her porcelain delicate face and the exuberance of her mere existence storms lively in the silvery grey of her eyes. She is always armed with her most adept weapon which is a ready and welcoming smile.

Eliza Albalaski is a second cousin of the current grand duchess. She an upbringing typical of an Albalaski: raised within the walls of the mighty Icespire and having the house's duty to attend to the defence and wellbeing of the grand duchy instilled in her day after day. As a youth, Eliza displayed no aptitude whatsoever for martial matters, to the point that her tutors swiftly decided there were better ways in which to teach her. Instead, her education focused on the imperial court and how to present herself there. This didn't actually work out well either, strictly speaking, because she showed no inclination towards learning the intricacies of it all. In her spare time, she frequently hosted or attended parties in Vilslev. And this? This worked! She has boundless energy for that and a fabulous aptitude for dealing with people.

Amidst all the failed lessons, one did at least stick: she took to heart her duty.

At some point after turning 20, she began to spend more time in Sanctuary each year than in Vilslev. Her goal there is to persuade people to provide funding for Lonin to continue to simply exist, with the outsized military it must maintain in the face of the Terror. She has a reputation as a larger than life socialite, being quite happy to present herself at any social occasion whatsoever, where she is invariably a whole lot of fun.

Wooooo!!!

Actually, Eliza isn't all wooooo!!! She has a well developed sense of duty too! It just happens to manifest in a very particular way. She is larger than life in her demeanour, in her intent to prevail upon others to be just as fun as her or at least to go along with it for a time, and in her professed love for her home. Her approach might not be the very favourite of some of the imperial nobility, but very generally it works wonders in drawing attention to her and her cause.

And what a cause! To Eliza, the continued security of Lonin means nothing less than the security of the entire empire. She is entirely, wholeheartedly and relentlessly committed to it.

Eliza has a wonderful way with people, but it's for the best if she isn't pushed into the intricacies of administration.
