Helena Albalaski

Helena is first cousin to Grand Duchess Zaria Albalaski and daughter of Bogdan and Adona Albalaski. Helena took well to martial matters in her formative years and has commanded troops since reaching adulthood, first in Vilslev itself, then squadrons of cavalry, and most lately as Warden of the Outer Watches. Her career has seen umpteen minor battles and she has a reputation for being tranquil and composed even in the face of danger.

Helena's most recent appointment puts her in overall command of the wild region north of the Whitewater Plain. It is not the most northerly part of Lonin - the Expanse, held by House Sikorin, is even farther north - but it is dangerous all the same. It contains an array of minor fortresses, the Watches, though her remit extends beyond just their garrisons and into patrols of the region.

Typical of prominent Albalaskis, Helena also spends time in Sanctuary. Though not exactly a socialite, she has a broad range of military experience and is well regarded in martial circles. She does her best to translate this into real support for House Albalaski and the defence of Lonin.

Helena is almost unflappable. No matter the danger that faces her, she remains calm and put together. In her personal dealings, she is matter of fact and serious in her presentation, though capable of warmth when it's someone she is truly close to.

She has a quiet love of art and music, a side-effect of being raised in Vilslev. She's certainly not known as an artist nor as a patron of the arts, but she is as likely to be found in attendance at a musical show as she is at a martial gathering. She has a range of acquaintances in artistic circles.

Helena is just about unshakably composed. She is an able commander with long experience of leading troops.
