Exalted Kalia Heshbeh

Kalia was taken with history from an early age. Growing up, she was consistent in asking that her tutors focus on it and she proved to be an ardent and capable student. More than that though, she was interested in contemporary tales too. This fascination never faded, and as an adult, she took to travelling far afield. She seeks people and she seeks their stories, and she documents them all as thoroughly as she can, large or small, old or new.

She occupies no specific position in the administration of Pearlsedge or Heka Nome, but her travels and the broad range of people who she meets mean that she has often splendid insight into far-off goings-on, which is always of interest to the many merchants of Pearlsedge.

Kalia's most frequent destinations are Sanctuary and Myos, home of House Regas, for their excellent libraries and for the range of people she might meet there. She has some aspirations of creating a splendid library in Pearlsedge.

Kalia is driven by her pursuit of stories. She is studious, and she sees great value to books, but she often sees even more value still in the tales which she can find from people. They present new information, new angles, and new insights. With the propensity for members of her house and for their servants to travel far afield and to have sprawling networks of contacts, she is rarely without someone to speak to or at least a suggestion of whom to seek.

The quest for knowledge might drive Kalia, though it is not at all to the point of obsession. In her more relaxed moments, she enjoys attending all manner of social functions. Perhaps at the back of her mind there is still some inkling that she might learn something even from an ordinary conversation, but she is at least happy to have that ordinary conversation. She is bright and amicable.

Kalia is an adept historian and highly personable.
