Description
Background
Paul Lindner is the youngest brother of the late Count Gerhart Lindner. While he followed the same course as his brothers and spent most of his 20s as a knight, he was increasingly drawn into representing the house at court and beyond. The Lindners have a reputation for sending soldiers on distant excursions. Paul became established as a diplomat to whom people might make representations, seeking aid or, on the odd occasion, trying to deter Lindner soldiers from showing up. He was involved in the arrangements preceding the Greenwood War, and during the war, he rode ahead of the army as a herald, exhorting the garrisons of forts to surrender.
When his brother vanished in 629, Paul rode with the search parties, but to no avail. He still trains from time to time, though would be the first to acknowledge that he's far from the levels of martial prowess of much of his family. He continues to serve the house in the same capacity, as a diplomat and herald.
Personality
Paul has a reputation for being scrupulously honest, which is not often a given with diplomats. He tells things exactly as they are, with nothing omitted. If the version of diplomacy for that day involves riding to a hostile fortress and issuing a threat, then that is what he will do. He treats every part of his post with the utmost gravity. He is not, perhaps, the very first choice to invite to a party, although when he is invited, he is quite accomplished in various courtly dances and an excellent harpist, things which he learned to be better able to conduct himself well at court.
Notable Traits
Paul is an excellent diplomat and passable warrior.
