Description

Slender as a daisy stalk, this woman's bronzy hair is slowly succumbing to the creeping invasion of the silver of age. Worry lines nip gently at the corners of her broad mouth and her leaf green eyes are dappled with delicate creases at the outer corners. Her skin is pale as snow and her fingers are nimble, with perfectly manicured oval nailbeds.

Background

Petra, the slightly younger sister of Countess Elene Karalis, grew up in Wayguard. She was educated extensively in mathematics and engineering, including a stint resident in Myos, home of House Regas. In her early 20s, as the Lindners sought ties with House Karalis, Petra put forward the prospect of her marrying Gerhart Lindner. The two were quite alike in some respects, not least their direct manner, and general view on the world, wherein both were keen to look far beyond their own homes. They married.

In the intervening years, Petra has expanded her range of experience to include a modicum of understanding of martial matters too. She has sought to apply her engineering expertise to the Lindner expeditions, but the Adanan tradition of warfare is deeply embedded and apart from the shortlived Greenwood War, there has been no opportunity to put her ideas into practice - even during the war, engineering works were disposed of by Salfeld's non-Adanan allies.

That marriage continued until 629, when Gerhart vanished in the Red Waste. Petra was among the many to accompany the search parties. Since then, she has supported her daughter, Silja, who is now Countess of Inethmeet.

Personality

Petra is firm and direct, with a sharp tongue and even sharper mind. She does not like prevarication and is quick to interrupt anyone who might behave evasively; she has in fact been publicly irritated with her own sister about this very matter. That is to say, she is much like the Lindner ideal in many respects. For Petra, work and free time blend into one. She is a frequent visitor to Sanctuary's university, where she has even published a few treatises, and otherwise continues to seek to broaden her range of knowledge.

Notable Traits

Petra is very intelligent, an able engineer and organiser, and has a broad range of scholarly knowledge.
