Exalted Tanith Rannal

A second cousin of King Misic, Tanith spent years travelling between various urban centres, often using Sanctuary as a hub, visiting various noble houses, taking in the sights and learning of various cultures. Much of it seemed to be done for its own sake, though she would relay messages on request, or sometimes stay longer in a region to involve herself in one local issue or another.

In 631, at the prompting of Adon Rannal, the vizier, Tanith took on at least nominal responsibility for the oversight of House Rannal's vast agricultural exports. The reality is that a whole web of bureaucracy exists to facilitate said exports, so Tanith's post is one of operating at a very high-level and leaving the particulars to the many people working for her.

She spends less time in Jewel than most Rannals, and habitually avoids the palace, so it's not even clear that Misic is aware that she exists, a situation which she has been happy to perpetuate.

Tanith, about as outgoing and extroverted as can be, makes friends wherever she goes and virtually never turns down an invitation to visit a place. She is well read and cultured. Responsibility for commercial affairs remains something of a novelty to her. She knows that House Rannal has grain to export and she knows that other places want to import it. Working on these two facts has, so far, worked out passably well. Her life has not seen any real measurable change from holding the office. She stays clear of public political entanglements, which means often avoiding Jewel. Home or not, she can find far more interesting places to be.

Tanith is an extroverted socialite, with just passable knowledge of mercantile matters.
