Lord Theon Aetos

Theon Aetos is a first cousin of Duchess Melissa Aetos and one of the generation of young members of the house who ousted the older generations that had left it not merely stagnant but in sharp decline. Theon has never been even remotely social, preferring his own company and to immerse himself in his work where possible. It hasn't for a moment stopped his older siblings, Kimon and Efthymia, with whom he is close, and certain of his extended family from pulling him into this or that family function. Theon's mother, Eftychia, is the second eldest sibling of the late Duchess Phyllis Aetos, but absent political aspirations of her own, typical of an entire generation of the house, made no particular move to lay claim to the duchies. She is happy to leave such concerns to others.

The seizure of power by Melissa was a move that Theon backed in his drab, dry way. Though only in his 20s, he has a superb grasp on economics and trade, especially as it pertains to the duchies held by House Aetos, and he has got to work quickly on trying to untangle the issues left behind. It is - he might say fortunately, for him - no small task.

Theon is perhaps the drabbest man on Elthos or, by some reckoning, an utter eccentric. It isn't that he isn't smart - quite to the contrary, he is intelligent and possessed of a sharp wit indeed. He just chooses to funnel this towards his work, which he loves, rather than towards people, who he generally doesn't, and he presents as diligent and driven.

There are exceptions to the drab exterior. He reputedly jokes with his family, however dry he might be in his presentation. He dresses frumpily, with no regard whatsoever to outward appearance or fashion. He takes up hobbies from time to time, usually intellectual pursuits, and is notably well read in a broad range of topics.

Since the seizure of power by the young generation of House Aetos, Theon has spent time in a position of real authority. Whether he adapts to changing circumstances or continues in the manner he always has remains to be seen.

Theon has a sharp mind and a superb grasp on economics and the sound administration of a domain, though he has scant interest in individual people and rarely engages well with them.
