Description
Though time has been generally kind to this septuagenarian, there is an acute urge to wander that flickers in his person, even at his age. And yet, his carriage and presence are things to be marveled over, when he remains still enough to be beheld, and he has a full head of now stark white hair above clear, concisely considerate green eyes. His missing arm is the last thing anyone would notice about him.
Background
Udo was somewhat far removed from the main Lindner line when he was born, and all the more so now. He spent his early years as a knight, till at the age of 32, he was maimed while defending a Hanan coastal village after a shipload of raiders with a chained beast from the Terror attacked it. He faced the beast, stalling it, but it severed his arm with its pincers. Soldiers of House Fletza arrived in time to save Udo from being eaten.
After a lengthy convalescence, and ample time to think about what to do next, he joined the Cult of Valon. He has spent decades since then in ministry, attending to the spiritual wellbeing of nobles across the empire. While he is still a noble of House Lindner, he is as likely to be found far from home as he is at it. He has never quite settled in one place, though is seen in Sanctuary more than anywhere else. His name commands respect and opens many doors.
Personality
Udo has never wanted for courage, though the brash confidence of youth has been tempered by long, long experience. If he has something to say, he will find a way to say it, but he will gauge the time and the place for it. As a priest of the Cult of Valon, he treads a line where he must advise and guide the nobility while at the same time never subverting the nobility. It is something of a self-imposed line, since the cult's central authority is weak and subject entirely to House Otrese, and so a priest with the family name and long standing of Udo can almost do as they want; the irony of this situation is not lost on Udo. He offers serious counsel to nobility. If he writes to a noble with a request to meet, it is always because he has something to say. He pays scant heed to whether nobles are actually adherents of the cult, taking the view that Valon wishes for all nobility to be strong.
Notable Traits
Udo is a convincing speaker, both one-to-one and in public, with sound insight into various noble matters.
