Playing the Game

Seeing and Navigating the World
Use the look command to see the description of a room, another character or an object. look by itself, or simply l, will show the room you are in, while look would look at the character called Misic.

At the end of each room description, you can see a list of exits. You can use the exit name or the alias in the triangular brackets to go to a different room. Outdoor rooms also support cardinal directions, for example, n, e, s or w.

The directions command will show you the way to other rooms on the grid. For example, directions triumph plaza will show you the way to Triumph Plaza, while directions port will have multiple matches in the Port District.

The where command shows everyone who is currently in a visible room. The who command will show a list of everyone who is online.

Communicating with Others Out-of-Character
Use the ooc command to send an out-of-character message to other players in the same room.

Use channels to communicate with all players connected to a channel. help channel has a thorough list of syntax. To get started, you could use public Hello! to send a message of "Hello!" on the main public channel.

Use pages to communicate directly with other online players. page misic=Hello! will send a message to Misic. page misic,=Hello! will send it to both Misic and Adon.

Mail can be used for out-of-character messages. In this case, use the mail/ooc syntax described in help mail.

Communicating with Others In-Character
The emit command is the main way to engage with others in-character. help emit describes full syntax, including to show characters' names in brackets before their emits and to add colour to speech or specific words. See help color for a list of colours. The pose command works mostly like emit, but automatically prefaces the text with your character's name.

Mail can be used for in-character messages. See help mail.

Places
Places are subdivisions of rooms that you can use, such as tables, alcoves, a corner of a hall, or whatever else suits the circumstances. You can create places at will, using place/create. Please tidy up afterwards, using place/delete. See help place for full syntax.

join and leave can be used to join and leave places.

The pemit and ppose commands work much like emits, but they are sent only to characters in the same place as your character.
