Introduction

Welcome to Empire!

Empire is a multiplayer, text-based roleplaying game. Players each depict a character in the game. This is a MUSH, a game where the focus is primarily on collaborative writing, rather than a MUD, which often centre more on game mechanics.

To get started, you can read some of the other pages in this introductory information category. There is no need to read all of the world information up-front.

If you have any questions at all, you can connect to the game using a MUD/MUSH client or on the site at Play Online, and once there, simply type "connect guest". One choice of client is MUSHclient.

The game uses a roster of characters. All characters are pre-written and you can select one to play. Others may have played characters before you. You can browse available characters here.

Once you have decided on a character to play, you can connect to the game as a guest, and use the following command:

roster/apply <character>/<email>=<application text>

Applications need only be a sentence or two long.
